Planning and mind mapping
To start off my project I began with two mind maps to help get an idea on what I wanted my FMP theme to be, to get a better understanding on my theme I highlighted all the boxes that interested me so I could come back and easily find the notes that would have relevance towards my final project, after careful consideration I decided I wanted my FMP to be fairly simular to my previous project which included work alike Duane Michaels an artists that has inspired a large part of my work, I wanted my project to be about life and death including ghost-like spirits and other sinister elements.
Moodboard
I then created a mood board to get a visual understanding on what I want to base my photography on. these concluded of very sinister, horrifying pictures, I will now use these to inspire my work.
Photography
To start off my photography I began by using a narrative to base the structure off my first photo on, throughout my FMP I plan on using some narratives to base my photos off because I find this can be quite effective in photography, again this is something Duane Michaels included in his work, he often left a short sentence along-side his photos to give the photo more meaning, the narrative for this photo is "There are no monsters, I said to him before looking under the bed to find another him". to create this piece I used photo shop to crop out a picture of the boy and then changed the contrast, the opacity and used the smudge tool to make the figure look more distorted and spectral.
The next two photos I have worked on I decided to improve the location to give my photography abit more excitement and to make my photos more intriguing. I used the forest to take these photos because the use of dramatic lighting and shadows can create a sense of foreboding or mystery in a forest photograph. Dark and shadowy areas can evoke feelings of unease, suggesting hidden or unknown dangers lurking within the forest. although I took these photos myself unfortunately the ghosts within these photos were taken off shutter-stock I have included these in my Harvard referencing, these people were taken off the internet but they didn't look like ghosts to start with I used photoshop to give them that sinister ghostly look, the photos I create using the internet will be a step in my development meaning I will eventually take my own original photos of people in eerie dark places like these. the first photo I have used the effect called sepia because I find it gives the photo a very old fashioned contrast, like the photo is vintage and not from present time.
Here I have shown a slide show with the original photo because I wanted to show how this piece started and how it finished, i wanted to show the drastic change between start and finish, the picture started vibrant, colourful and full of life but towards the end using photoshop the picture looks a lot more dead and post apocalyptic, one of the factors supporting this is how the change in colour has almost made the picture look like its covered in ash, like the forest has been set alight and this is all that remains, the women included into this photo plants an important role in showing the viewer that anything wondering this derelict land is clinging onto whatever memory belongs, stuck forever walking the same path blinded by death itself.
to improve this piece I will begin by experimenting with different angles because I feel the shot that I have taken is slightly basic, I will try taking the shot lower down or even from a different viewing point, when photographing I will make sure to photograph something that interests me multiple times so I have more to experiment with.

This piece I have created I have included a little boy in a blue t-shirt this stood out to me because in photoshop I experimented with the different contrasts making a lot of the forests greens look more blue I did this because the colour blue can often be symbolise this feeling of being alone or isolated, the boy himself is wearing the colour blue causing the photos contrast to be quite effective, I find this makes the photo a lot more visually striking. I find the composition and sizing also extremely effective because although the tree in the centre of the frame takes up most of the photo it doesn't take the attention away from the lost ghost boy.
